Hi,
I am going to have three old toilets replaced with two piece. chair height, elongated bowl, single flush, traditional style, beige toilets. I haven't bought a toilet for about 30 years and I think I'm spending way too much time on this.
I've been reading lots of reviews for different manufactures/models. For every review that raves about the Toto Drake there is one that says they are overpriced junk. For every review that says American Standard is fantastic there is one that says they are bottom of the barrel. I want to stay away from the big box stores, not blow the budget, and get a toilet that will flush effectively but is not difficult to clean because of odd angles or contours.
It looks like $450-$500 for toilet and seat a good unit. For example, I see the Toto Drake 1.6 GPF for$464 and the 1.2 GPF for$504.02. Toilets from other manufacturer's in that same price range seem to be pretty comparable as far as specs. Toto, Kohler and American Standard have so many toilets in that price range it's tough to narrow it down to just one. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

We bought our first Toto almost 10 years ago based on recommendations from this list. It has performed flawlessly.
Recently watched this review of Glacier, American Standard, Kohler and Toto:

Toto performed best, Kohler was second.
