New Delta lav faucet underside mounting plate issue
Author: sum (FL)

I am trying to install a new Delta LARKIN single handle faucet onto the existing countertop with three holes previously had a Delta Micheal Graves two handle mini widespread faucet.

On the underside the space is tight.

I don't understand why the faucet hoses and the mounting bolt are not positioned symmetrically with respect to the faucet spout, because the 2"X2.5" mounting plate from the underside just don't fit. Either the mounting hole for the bolt is off or the hoses are off despite trying various angles and positions (yes I know the plate is supposed to be flipped upside down).

I would use the last picture orientaion, trim the legs and maybe open the circular notch(in the metal plate) with a dremel.

The sink rim is exceptionally close to the faucet mounting hole, causing you grief. As Steve posted, get the Dremel out. Sometimes the sink china is soft and the sink rim can be ground away easily, to make space for the mounting plate.

steve & george, I was under the sink looking at the bottom of the faucet and the mounting bracket for a bit and decided to modify the bracket by drilling a hole at a different location, this is easier than cutting with a Dremel so I'll try that first.

The hole had to be drilled off to one side to accommodate the hoses. Kind of closer to the edge I like but that's the only location that may work.

I got the mounting bolt and hoses but the bracket is not centered on the countertop hole but off to one side.

Seems sturdy on the top side.

What do you'all think, will this work or cut with a Dremel to have it more center positioned?

I called Delta about this, and they said best way to solve it is to go to a local hardware store and look at all the various "off brand" mounting kits and see if one of them may work. I said you mean those half moon or horseshoe shaped brackets he said yeah those. Well why didn't Delta include these?

What I think, is that Delta should punch extra holes in that bracket. Looks good Sum.

That may help some people. In my case it's on a skinny part of the flange so I had to drill it precisely there.

I ordered a horseshoe bracket to try with the other two faucets. Don't know if that's better.
