 We changed our circulator.
Author: AC4564 (NJ)

Hi. We changed our circulator the other day and it was making this odd dry suction sound. So I did research and we bled the system. It got quieter, but didn't fully go away. So I did more research, and I told my husband to bleed that particular line. Well, the noise went away, but now it's back. My psi is at 20. My temp is at 130.

Do we need to bleed it more, or does the pressure need to be raised?

It's a Utica boiler, the tag says 1987 but it has a lot of new parts on it.

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you are on the right track, air in the pipe is causing the noise. Since you are able to bleed it out, more air is likely leaking in. So you have a leak without dripping water to show you where it is.

Given that you just changed your circulation pump, the leak is likely near there. Research how to make those connections leak free and try again.
