Seems uphonor now has approved using their pex A pipe with Pex B crimp on fittings.
Does anyone trust this?
The pipe seems to fit more loosely on the fitting than the original pex B.
I already have a supply of pex B fittings and all the tools and supplies. Retired and just do some minor work for friends and family.
But there are times when using some Pex A pipe with my Pex B would be easier. Just when I need more flexibility of Pex A. It is supposed to be easier to make turns. Which means I could delete some fittings inside a wall.
Is it worth the risk?
Thanks

I don't know about the use of Uponor PEX A with crimp fittings, I know some have used it for years and said it works without any issue.
Are your crimp fittings made by Uponor or some other brands?
If you look at Uponor's warranty policy, mixing fitting and pipe brands will reduce your warranty from 25 years to either 10 years or 1 year depending. So if you are using Uponor PEX A with Apollo fittings it's ten years, using Uponor fittings on Apollo PEX A pipes it's one year.

Thanks, very helpful.
It sort of defeats the purpose of them now approving their pex use with the use of pex B fittings. If the warranty is so bad. So it does not last as long.

well, the warranty may not mean using crimp fittings on PEX A tubing is a bad thing.
It could be that Uponor, as a company, tested their own PEX A tubing with their own fittings and feel comfortable doing a 25 year warranty.
However, if you connect their PEX A tubing with brand X crimp rings, and there are many brands out there, with crimp rings, cinch rings etc...they can't test them all, so they decided they will only warranty it for a shorter period. No idea.
Of course, Uponor wants you to buy their products, tubing and fittings, and if the warranty is shorter, the consumers may opt to stay with the same brand, just for the peace of mind.
