Kitchen Sink Pipe P Trap Connection Leak
Author: Nibroc101 (MA) There is a slight trickle of water leaking just above the p trap of my kitchen sink. [postimg.cc] The leak is not where the new tailpiece has been connected. It is between the black p trap pipe and the silver colored pipe just above it that is connected to the threads that attach to the tailpiece extension. Any guidance will be tremendously appreciated! Edited 4 times.

Author: Nibroc101 (MA) Steve, there is a gasket between the silver nut and the brass threaded piece in addition to the Teflon tape. Apparently, the seal where the black p trap pipe and the silver pipe connect was compromised when I replaced the branch tailpiece. Respectfully, Bill

Author: steve (CA) If the leak at at either of these locations, those are soldered connections. If the leak is from the lower joint, that joint needs to be heated and disassembled, cleaned and resoldered. If the leak is from the top joint, either do the same as lower joint, or cut off the brass slip joint connector and use a copper x tubular shielded coupling.
