This is the water main water shutoff valve and piping entering the basement. Professionally installed.

The plastic makes me nervous. Is this OK?

Thank you, packy. That's what I was afraid of. Some type of pex that the local water company (private) uses coming in. Maybe it needs to be changed to go straight into the copper. Many thanks, Ken

How big is the house? A 1/2" service supply is undersized for anything these days except a small cabin with 1 bath and small kitchen....
