We had a shower remodel in June 2023. A few weeks ago, we noticed that some grout on lip that comes out of the floor to the bottom of the shower wall glass had fallen out or collapsed behind the tile. This week I noticed a small hold in the grout of the tile floor. The hole in the floor grout is enough to get a toothpick in.
Sorry for not using proper terms here.
Is this something that I just go to my local hardware store and get some matching grout and patch myself or do I go back to the installer?

The technical term for this is "defective tile job." Properly applied grout should last decades. No matter how many times it is repaired, the shower will inevitably leak and possibly cause water and structural damage to your home. Find out what consumer protections are available in your state and file a complaint immediately. Also get a home inspector to check for leaks.
Sorry for the bad news!

grout is made to stick to the unfinished sides of tile. it does not stick to shiny surfaces. grout does not belong in inside corners nor should it be applied when tile abuts shower bases, tub edges and especially glass.
the proper product to use is a color matched adhesive caulking.
from the internet..."Grout, which is a cement-based material, is great for filling the spaces between tiles. But it isn't flexible enough to stay intact where a shower pan or tub meets surrounding walls. Nor is grout the right material for filling the corner joints on the walls. For these spaces, the right material is caulk."
'nuff said..
