When I flush the toilet, there is sediment on the bottom. The pipes in the basement then make knocking sounds and shake. The pressure also cuts out with showers but returns in a few minutes. The pressure on the pump is 60psi but when we ran the washing machine today it went down to 10psi during the cycle. Any ideas?

What pressure does the pump nomally turn on at? Was the pump off until 10 psi and then turned on? A lot of times, a delayed pump start is caused by a restriction in the feed to the pressure switch. A vibration when a toilet is flushed is often a bad washer in the toilet fill valve or angle stop.

We flushed out the well tank. We are on a 40/60. The well pressure was 60psi so we dropped it to 38psi. It worked for two days and now its back to the same issues.
