Vandalism - A/C condenser drain pipe
Author: AtticNYC (NY)

We have a dispute going with the landscaping company that our condominium company uses. As a result, the landscaper is retaliating by putting thick wet brown sand into the drain pipe between the condenser and our back wall. The condenser stops, the A/C shuts off and the place gets very hot very quickly.
We are scared and trying to figure out how to resolve the dispute.
In the meantime, is there a way we can protect an open drainpipe?? I’ve seen drain locks for sinks and removable screen ends that can fit on a pipe, but they would not be tamper proof.
Any advice would be most welcome. It’s a horrible situation. Thank you.

Sure, you can protect the drain pipe. You could cap the end and drill a hole for the condensate pipe to fit into. There are other options too. Pics of the pipe will help.

I’m not an a/c guy by any means but as far as I know the outside condenser needs no drain, rather needs to breathe to be efficient

A pic would help a lot
Do you have a camera in the area and footage proof of vandalism?
