 Burst of rust with pex
Author: Wljenkins2 (MN)

Hi all. We just bout a small vacation park model on the lake . A park model is like a single wide. It has pex everywhere. The park model hooks up to a garden hose. Here's what I can't figure out. If the water has been sitting let's say overnight and you try to take a shower in the morning a burst of rust comes out of the tub. And only the tub. The bathroom is the closest to the source of the water as well. I have not looked at what the connection is between the faucet in the park model. I'm just scratching my head at this.

Most likey they used a galvanized or black iron nipple for the tub spout.

If so replace with brass, stainless steel, non-corrosive type of nipple and problem should be solved.
