 One piece acrylic tub
Author: AngieBondy (Canada)

Hello, just wondering why all new builds have 4 piece tub and showers. I want a one piece acrylic tub since it is easy to maintain. I am a young senior and cannot clean out a soaker tub. I look at glass and think of it as a health and safety hazard if someone falls and breaks it. Glass is also hard to maintain. I am raising grandchildren so I need a home that is low maintaince. One piece acrylic tubs are so easy for someone like me to maintain. Any open houses I attend all have soaker tubs and glass showers with tile (grout gets stained and yucky too). I also want a vanity that goes to the floor. Hanging vanities and dresser style vanities with legs are a nightmare for older people to clean under. It is also dead space under the vanity. A traditional vanity that goes to the floor provides more space for storage. I think that these new homes are over $1,000,000 and I have to tear out the bathrooms and redo them. It is so very disappointing that builders don't think about the aging population and what would be easy wear, easy care so we can stay in our homes as long as possible. Many of my friends are also raising grandchildren. Kind thanks

Not all new constuction have 4 piece fiberglass units. In my experience most are one piece.
