Insert to make 1/2-inch copper tubing tight in a 1-inch hole in wood
Author: ArthurPeabody (NM) I have to run a 24-inch long piece of half-inch copper tubing to the spigot for the toilet. I've made a little frame of 2x4s to hold it up. I had to drill 1-inch holes to get the fitting through. I'd like to make the pipe tight in those holes. Is there some insert that would do this? I'd have to put it on clamping over the pipe, not slide on.

Author: steve (CA) I use suspension straps like these. Insert the collar in the stud hole.

Author: ArthurPeabody (NM) Thanks. That's a good tip. BigHomeStore has the Apollo version. It's 1.4" diameter I'd prefer not to have to take it apart and drill larger holes. Are others thinner? I thought about taking a scrap of 3/4" PEX, cutting 1.5" pieces, inserting those in the holes, anchoring them with suspension clamps on both sides. (I have to buy a 10-pack anyway.)
