I have a dedicated shower,(no bathtub) with very little water flow to the shower head. New Cartridge and springs/seats. Great water flow from the valve body when the cartridge is removed (Delta 1700 series cartridge and valve body) I have removed the lower pipe cap from the valve body (that would have gone to a tub) and snaked a line through to the shower head, no blockage or sediment. What am I missing here?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Professional plumber could not offer any suggestions.

? clogged showerhead ?

? low water pressure and water saving showerhead ?

? have you tried simply removing the showerhead and seeing the flow from the 'arm' ?

Shower head was removed to run snake to valve body. Water pressure excellent

then soak the shower head in vinegar for 48 hours, it 'may' be 'calcified'

rig a garden hose to the shower arm

'back flush' the shower valve body with the cartridge in place and the lower cap off

you will need 'stops' on the water supply to the valve, install them now if not present

would this screen be located in the valve body? Pretty sure I would have noticed it when I replaced the seats and springs.

Should the cartridge be in the on or off position when I backflush

There should be three holes in the back of the valve body, hot cold and the middle hole has a plastic screen in it when it came from the factory. This screen is supposed to be removed before installing the cartridge.

BERNBEU
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. WHEN I REMOVED THE LOWER CAP I TOOK A WIRE AND OPENED THE MACHINED HOLES GOING UP TO THE SHOWER HEAD. THEN I REVERSE FLUSHED THE SHOWER HEAD WITH A GARDEN HOSE AND NOW HAVE EXCELLENT WATER FLOW.
APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT !!
