Caulking Acrylic Tubs.

I have been using GE Advanced Silicone (neutral cure) but the bond between the silicone bead and the acrylic only lasts for about two years.

I remove all of the old caulk, sand the acrylic to roughen the surface and wipe down with rubbing alcohol.

I try to avoid caulking jobs because they are tedious and time consuming but when a customer calls me in to find out why the shower is leaking and I find the silicone has separated, I don't want to tell the customer at that point to get someone else to do the caulking.

Googling turned up recommendations to use siliconized acrylic latex caulking.
Anyone have recommendations?

Author: packy (MA) whatever you use, fill the tub with water before you caulk.

Author: bernabeu (SC) If, repeat IF, the tub is PROPERLY set on a PROPERLY installed ledger board there will be NO separation at the caulking because of the weight of the water. theoretically
