Can I plug my basement floor drain if I install a sump well and pump in my basement?
If you plan to never use it again and if it’s connected to the plumbing there should be a trap for it,just stuff a rag down the pipe about 4” and fill it with concrete or use a wing nut plug if you can find the right size
i don't ever advise stuffing a rag down a pipe.
i know there is little chance of it happening but if the rag went down the pipe it can cause a blockage.
i always say to use newspaper. if it goes down it will easily dissolve,
