Kitchen sink / 2nd bath shower / toilet
Author: Telly (MN)

In the kitchen sink when I turn the cold valve on, it comes flying out of the kitchen faucet and it won’t turn off when I twist the handle so I have to keep the cold water turned off underneath the kitchen? My toilet in the second bathroom will not fill up with water or flush is this from the cold water being turned off in the kitchen? also, my shower handles got stripped, so can I just replace the stripped handles or do I have to replace the whole shower installation?

The kitchen faucet needs to be replaced or seal(s)/cartridge replaced. The stop valve under the sink should only affect the water supply to the faucet, not the toilet. The toilet has a probably had a bad fill valve or angle stop.
If the shower handles are stripped and the splines on the stems are ok, then you just need new handles.
