I had a backflow kitchen sink and the aux line didn't have a clean out. The plumber had to use the sink area to unclog the pipe. Afterwards when testing the sink drain they noticed a hole in the p trap arm. The plumber told me it would be okay and to place a container underneath to catch the drip. I'm not sure if I can leave the tape on? Or is that normal since it's a small hole. I don't have a picture of the hole but am checking on the container and pipe whenever I use the sink.

The trap arm needs to be replaced. Concealing/sealing a plumbing leak with tape is against code.

You will now need a REAL plumber who is capable of dealing with actual soldered Cu piping.
It is NOT, repeat NOT, acceptable to 'repair' piping with tape.

The tape is incorrect, needs to be Flex Tape.
