 OUCH! garbage disposer replacement
Author: sum (FL)

I was replacing a garbage disposer at a rental and accidentally hit my head against the "tiny legs" on the underside of the Kohler kitchen sink (cast iron with porcelain coating). Hit pretty hard and had blood coming down the side of my head.

What is the purpose of these legs besides to injure those who are working in close quarters below?

? they are cast in so the sink remains stable on the 'platform' while being spray enameled and then baked ?

Also, when you set the sink on the floor it is not resting on the outlet castings. Hitting you r head on them is just an extra bonus.

Sum,

In case you were thinking about it, don't try to cut or grind off these legs. You are likely to crack the iron, porcelain or both.
