I installed a water drop water filter under my sink. I had to split the cold water line so I purchase a 3/8x3/8x 3/8 adapter valve from Home Depot. Everything fit ok but when I turn the cold water back on it’s leaking around the area I split it. I have used tape but still no luck. I do see that there is a lot of movement around the part that screws into the water line. Need help. Here is the link to the pictures [postimg.cc]

I don’t see a washer in the adapter valve pack. Is it a gold ring or a rubber washer I am looking for? Thanks

a rubber 'cone washer' which 'should' have been built in
OR
juuust perhaps the adapter is designed for a metal to metal seal like in a union, in which case you need to tighten more or the fitting 'may' be defective

The rubber washer is inside the nut that screws to the existing valve
If by has play you mean wobbly it is most likely not tight enough or the add a tee fitting is defective
