How to remove shower faucet cap?
Author: Ernest chan (NY)

Hi everyone,

I am looking for any idea how to open my shower faucet cap. My shower faucet is leaking like crazy and I am trying to fix it. I couldn't even know how to pop up the cap. I don't have the menu of this faucet and couldn't find it from any local home depot either. A picture of my faucet from my google drive is posted below and please take a look.

[drive.google.com]

Thanks
Ernest

if i were betting, i would slide a big pile of chips to ' the brass unscrews from the chrome'.

its only an educated guess.

the trick is not to scratch the brass.

NO! UNSCREW the gold cap first, then there will be a screw underneath it to remove the handle.

Got you! I'll keep trying using a screwdriver to open up the cap but no success so far.

DO NOT use a screwdriver. Use Chanellock pliers carefully and unscrew it.

thanks.I'll try to use Chanellock pliers to open up the cap then unscrew the handle. I am wondering does anyone has any idea who is the manufacturer of this faucet? Do you guys think I need to replace any parts inside the faucet to stop leaking? Thanks.

It looks a lot like old Price Phister though this one seems more angular and also does not look very old.
