Shower and Bath has loud rushing water/whoosing sound
Author: adamfe (Non-US)

Hi Experts

Please help me get my peace of mind back.

I have a bathtub with a cobra mixer that has a super loud rushing water / whooshing almost mettallic sound when the mixer is opened. Its a bit better when the mixer is turned all the way to the left (hot water) or all the way to the right (cold water). It is the most horrid sound that can be hear throughout the house when the water is opened. The sound of the water is loud and harsh and like a whooshing noise.

Is there something inside the mixer that supposed to filter the rush of water and the noise? I am lost and hoping you can help me figure this out.

Many thanks!

Does the noise occur with water going to tub and with shower? Does the valve have the diverter built into it?

Yeah the noise occurs with both but lesser with the shower. When opened at full we can hear the whooshing and harsh rushing of water running through the ceilings in most rooms.

Yes - I believe the valve has the diverter built into it.
