Multiple Bad Solders 2 Years Out
Author: MS2013 (PA)

We had a solar thermal system installed (actually replaced) in 2 years ago. We had an antifreeze leak in February. It is leaking again. We also now have slow 3 water leaks. The tech came out and said it was due to bad solders. They have yet to come back to fix it. Is this something we are expected to pay for? I realize it is 2 years later but this seems to be an excess amount of leaks. Also, we haven't trusted to turn on our heat yet because we are concerned it will make the leaks worse. --Thanks.

if it truly was bad solder then all the joints should be replaced.

the "standard of the industry" guarantee is one year.

i don't believe turning your heat on will make anything worse.

IN most cases it is a bad solderer, rather than bad solders.
