Handles turn the wrong way on Delta spread faucet.
Author: StevenTDennis (MD)

Just installed a brand new Delta widespread faucet. The two levers initially turned on by going backwards toward my mirror. I tried reversing the cartridges and now the off position is "on" and the "on" position is off.

IE, the range of motion is now correct but the left (hot) turns clockwise to go on but the cold is turning counterclockwise to go on. I fiddled with the plastic at the top of the cartridge in my desperation trying various combinations and wonder if that's it, or if there's something else I need to do?

Help!

You need to reverse the actual 'mounts' - there is a left and a right

SHUT OFF WATER SUPPLIES. Remove old faucet. Slide hot and
cold end valves (1) with gaskets (2) through sink mounting holes.
Note: If sink is uneven, use silicone under the gaskets. Make sure
long tubes (3) are installed away from spout and handle with label for
HOT WATER SIDE is installed on the left side.
Secure end valves with
washers (4) & threaded brackets (5). Hand tighten brackets (5) onto
shank (6). Lock brackets into position by tightening screws (7).
