This sucks. Installed an 8in sewer line and it leaked so was testing with a test balloon but I think my guy (good helps hard to find) let slack in the airline and part of it got in front of the balloon. Then when the balloon was inflated the airline is pinched off and will no longer deflate. So long story long I have a stuck balloon about 80 ft in on way and 300ft in the other I can't deflate. End of the balloon is metal. Have tried a couple things to pop the balloon so i can pull it out but they have worked. Looking for any ideas how to get it out? Again can't deflate it, can't pull the airline, don't want to cut the pipe, the end cap of the balloon is metal.

if you know where the balloon is, dig down and drill a 1/4 inch hole thru the pipe into the balloon. a 1/4 inch hole in the pipe can be easily fixed.

Or run a snake down with camera, poke a hole in it and pull it back.


Guess I should have paid more attention to the post....."end of balloon is metal"...most likely can't poke a hole in it.

I watched a master plumber do what Packy recommends to dislodge a stuck rooter head. Two hours for the apprentice to dig down to the pipe, ten minutes to drill through it, dislodge the rooter and patch the hole.

The tricky part is pinpointing the balloon to the degree a drill bit will puncture it, do they have a locator or can a video be fed to the stuck pig for location purposes?
