The guy who brought the new washer today, told us that he cannot install the washing machine bc we have two 6 foot water hoses chained to connect to the washer (old house, can’t get closer to water faucet..), and he said that this would violate the code and warranty and instead we just need one long hose. I can’t find anything that confirms the statement online or why that would be a problem so I’m curious if anybody else knows about if it’s ok to chain two hoses without violating code and warranty.

You can't double up flexible gas supply tubing(appliance connector), but there's nothing about the water supply hoses.

??? there is nothing in the code re: minimum joints necessary or as per mfgr's specs or generally accepted good practice ???
Whirlpool, as an example, specifies water supply valves within 4' of unit and has a 10' maximum HOSE length
.............. so, would ELEVEN 4' hoses coupled together (exposed) be code compliant ????????????????????

why would a washing machine hose be any different from a refrigerator ice make supply hose?
fridge stainless hoses 20-25 feet long are all over the internet.

In most cases the code only applies up to the faucet. After that you are on your own.

@ OP
the warranty referred to is most likely the 'installation' warranty by 'the big box store'
hoses 'daisy chained' together instead of one piece are NOT good practice
food for thought:
? Why is there seldom time or money to do it right but ALWAYS time and money to do it again. ?
