Trying to replace 2 stuck shutoff vales under bathroom sink (house built in 1950) which appear to have threaded connections on inlet side:
Following instructions found here to measure inlet pipe:

it looks like inlet side is 3/8"
It looks like chrome. Would a connector for galvanized pipe work like this BrassCraft one:

don't forget new escutcheons
pack them underneath with plumbers putty to 'plug' the holes in the wall

use two wrenches.
one as a "holdback" to keep the chrome nipple from turning
