 Sewer Lateral Under Concrete Driveway
Author: PBR Street Gang (TX)

Putting in new standard 4" concrete driveway. My 4" Sch. 40 pvc sewer lateral runs diagonally across driveway about 18'. It is buried about 3' deep in North Texas clay soil. Is this okay (leave it as is) or should I take this opportunity to do something different with the lateral before I pour the driveway ?

All depends on what material was used to backfill the sewer
I believe you will be fine 3’ should be deep enough if your parking a normal vehicle on it and not parking let’s say a dump truck or a cement truck on it

If you are Leary about the situation you could always extra heavy cast iron in place of the pvc

I would not recommend no hub cast iron
