Current house is well water with a softener and an electric HW heater. I recently replaced the old Whirlpool heater due to being almost 10 years old and some rust bubbles forming on the side along the bottom. Now we have a new Rheem and getting a noticeable sulphur smell from the water. I'm reading that powered anode rods are the way to go for eliminating these issues...I've never heard of these, so I'm not sure if this is new technology or just never crossed paths with it?
