 Outside faucet install
Author: Chiefblue (MI)

I am thinking about adding an outdoor hose bib on my house in the backyard. My question is can I tap into the 1/2 copper supply line that feeds my toilet? Versus going farther down and tapping into a 3/4 inch line. What would the difference in rate of flow be in 1/2 vs. 3/4 inch pipe? If it won’t be a significant difference I would much rather tap the 1/2 inch pipe. This faucet would rarely be used only for watering a couple of flowers and maybe putting water in the dogs pool. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A tee on the toilet line should be just fine
