I was going to get a 6' toilet auger and I saw the prosource model was a great price. Is that a decent model or is it exactly what I'll be clearing the pipes of?

WIth closet augers, you get what you pay for. That is not one I would consider using. My preference is always the General brand "drop head" model

I appreciate that, thank you. Any specific brand that you like, keep in mind its just for my house.

The first time you twist in a knot, you will say, "Why didn't they recommend a good one?".

If you don't know how to use them you can break a bowl, so proceed gently

Also, even though I had a telescoping 6' auger, I do not think I ever needed to extend it in 65 years.

General 3' with the drop head is all you will ever need. Once it gets through the toilet, it has no further function.

I definitely will and have been watching videos of people using them, people that know what theyre doing. Like one of the hosts from "this old house", the guy was a plumber. And trying to find other sites with vids from plumbers.

I'm not sure which one I was replying to for that. this site should put replies right under the comments. Believe me though, nothing I put on here would be disrespectful in any way, I am grateful for the help that you all are nice enough to be giving me

Most reputable plumbers only have single man crews for things like toilet clogs so it would be hard to do the job and also record it.
