So I'm about to start building my lines for my outdoor kitchen. I've seen so many different opinions, my head is spinning (including those from the trade leaders).
So, I ask: I've got some brass fittings (not flare) but NPT tapered fittings that I need to assemble. I have both yellow dope and yellow tape. I'm inclined to just use the dope, but then I see opinions out there saying only tape and others saying both.
What is the consensus here? Thanks for the help.

I usually use dope only but if a fitting has to be indexed (facing a certain way), adding tape to the dope sometimes helps.

This debate will never end peacefully
If both ends to be connected are metal I use both tape and dope, they also sell dope with teflon mixed in

LOL,
seems more of the same here! I went with dope only. assembled my manifolds and fittings. Once I get the wall painted, I'll mount them and start running L copper tubing and then get it ready for pressure test.
