 DWV pipe through stemwall
Author: wallywa (WA)

I am wondering if there is a limit to where I can put our 3" drain pipe through our new stem wall. Adding on to existing home. New foundation supporting bed/bath add on. Is there a distance above footer/below top, distance from corner? Anything would help. Can't find anything addressing this in the codes. The codes only mention is that it has to be sleeved 2 pipe sizes larger. Thanks.

Your footer is the support for your foundation wall
Around here footers are typically minimum 3’ below grade which is considered our frost level
A footer is just that 12” thick and 12” wide

Call your local license and inspection office to find out the local building and plumbing requirements
Or contact the architect that made the drawings
