 Washing machine drain
Author: carols3cats2 (TX)

When my washing machine drains, the water backs up into the place where the drain hose is. I have to stand there and continually stop the washer to keep it from overflowing onto the floor.
There is a sink right next to the washer, and I can turn the water on and run it for a long time and it drains fine. I am wondering if the clog is in the drain pipe of the washer?
Is that easy to clean out?

YES,go to the big box store and ask for an 1 1/2" to 2" pipe size. Connect the balloon to your garden hose.It has a 1/8" hole in the other end. Go home and insert it into the pipe as far as you can, sometimes there is a 45-degree fitting and you must push in a little harder. While you hold the hose to make sure it does not back out, have someone turn the water on to full pressure but make sure they can hear you in case you need to shut the water off. You will probably clear out the clog which I suspect it is in the trap. Good luck.
