Toilet supply hose just 0.1" too short

I changed out my shutoff valve at the toilet. It was a 20" hose before doing a "loop".

I measured from the valve outlet which is facing up to the toilet fill valve, it's about 12". I bought a 12" supply hose.

It fits perfectly, with no slack. I tightened the nut onto the shutoff valve, then as I tightened the nut onto the fill valve, the slack is gone, it's pulling a bit tight. I think I can go another two rounds to seal it properly, but it will pull on the hose a bit. It's just like 1/32" too short I think. I am using a stainless steel braided hose so it's still a plastic hose inside and stretching that may not be a good idea?

What are my alternatives (besides doing a hard pipe using 1/4" tubing) should I go with a 16" which I think will become an awkward U, or 20" to go back to a loop. Is there a 3/8" "extender" fitting that is a 3/8" female compression seal on one end and a male compression on the other?

Author: steve (CA) You could change the angle stop to a 1/2" outlet and use an adapter to 3/8" compression.

Author: packy (MA) sum, just look up "toilet fill valve extension".. you can extend the shank of the fill valve to allow you to use the 12 inch supply.
