 The off-center bathtub faucet
Author: ArthurPeabody (NM)

The locations of the studs in my wall preclude centering the 6" fixture I bought; it'll be about 1¾" further from the wall (30" wide tub). I won't mind the offset-ness, but I hope to move out eventually - how much will others mind? The spout swings, so it can center. Is there some work-around?

yes - reframe the wall to allow centering the faucet - think 'window'

an off center fixture 'abortion' will deter a knowledgeable buyer

The wall holds up the roof - I won't reframe it.

I guess there are NO windows on a 'holds up the roof' a/k/a load bearing wall.

How to frame an opening in a load bearing wall:

You would merely have to allow for ONE 'missing' 2x4, not three as shown - easy peezy

I know how to do it. I've done it before. I don't think it's worth it in this case.

You asked if there was a work-around to center the faucet on the wall and this is it. Not sure what you want to hear?
