 relocation of washer and venting
Author: lunarink1 (MO)

I am wanting to relocate a washer and need advise, currently washer flows down into floor drain. I am wanting to move the washer 10' to 11' feet away. and tie into the existing washer line above the floor drain. I don't know where the vent for the washer is located. Is it to far of a run to use the old washer standing drain for a vent? I will have to run all new drain to that area.

distance from fixture trap to vent varies by some codes.
my code says with 1 1/2 inch pipe you can be 5 feet away from the vent.
you can probably fit in a studor vent somewhere in the first five feet from the trap and cover the code requirement

Most certainly that is too far.

Run an individual vent or an AAV if allowed in your jurisdiction.

2 in line has an 8 ft critical distance.
