Are quarter turn ball valves of the same size (say 3/4" interchangeable from brand A to brand B? Or are they all different?
Suppose I want to change some handles of my existing valves to say butterfly style handles, can I just buy some generic valve butterfly handles and change them out?

it is 'pot luck'
this is why plumbers always save valve handles from old valves
i used to have several 5 gal pails of them

..... i used to have several 5 gal pails of them AND OTHER MISC. PARTS such as valve bonnets and valve gates .....
'somewhat' organized and 'sorted' by pail, or not really ....................
