In relation to the Kohler ceramic cartridge issue and because the water had to be shut off in the bathroom. I temporarily moved to the bathroom off my office.

Well guess what - the sink is clogged and emptied very slowly.

The bathroom is on an outer wall. Outside the wall is a brick patio that extends out from the house 15 feet. Tub/shower and stool drain fine.

Problem was not in the p-trap, completely open. Found a small clog in the pipe going to the wall. Reassembled - still drained slowly. After pushing through a sizeable resistance at 6-8 feet, I managed to get an auger into the pipe approx. 13 feet. Nothing on the end of the auger except what looks like a small glob of thread. Drains better and is now at least acceptable.

Question - shouldn't 13 feet put the auger into the main drain line. Yes or no?

May have pushed THROUGH the clog w/o clearing it all.

Auger it again and again and again - 'play' with auger head - patience is your friend.

Use a 25' wire if at all possible with the LARGEST head or tip that you can work into the pipe through the fittings.

Run some water WHILE you are augering if possible.

Pulled it apart and examined. It was definitely thread.

thats good... if it was roots then you would be in for a big replacement job..

The most common thread that clogs drains comes from feminine hygiene products that got flushed.
