I replaced the whole cartridge kit on the Kohler shower valve but it kept leaking. Then I noticed the brass behind the cartridge has a cut on the cold side. The old type might have a removable seat but this doesn’t, it’s part of the shower body. I tried to sand it down to smooth it out but it’s hard to get in there. My question is: Do they make a tool to smooth out the “seats” or does the whole body just have to be replaced.
