4"x3" pvc 90?
Author: exapprentice30 (MA) I have a 4"x3"pvc 90 from the orange big box store that has a gap in the hub about the thickness of a penny in the hub but the pipe fits tight. Would heavy pvc cement work better for this fitting? Edited 1 times.

Author: steve (CA) If you are saying the pipe is a loose fit in the hub, don't use that fitting. Return it and get one that's not defective.

The hub is TAPERED therefore there may be a visible gap at the face, but, the pipe will be a very tight 'press fit' into the bottom of the hub.

This is by design and is what forces the solvent WELD action of the solvent cement which 'theoretically' creates a joint as strong as the pipe itself at the 'base' of the hub.

BUT

You may actually have a defective fitting if you can 'bottom' the pipe 'by hand'.
