Pcv excessive sweating under bathroom sink
Author: Luc0428 (TX)

I live in SE Texas and only under one sink the pcv pipe has excessive sweating. I need to add this sweating happens in this one room. Not other bathroom or kitchen. I am told by plumber my a/c is tied to same drain as bathroom sink. He tells me this is normal. Your website mentions for others that is high humidity which is causing sweating and to wrap pipes with foam insulation to correct problem. Would you suggest same option for my problem? Or how about replacing that pcv pipe. Would that help? Home is 20 yrs old with original plumbing. Any thoughts appreciated

Tks
Gail

Just wrap it with some insulation (small roll of the pink stuff is good).

if you changed to metal piping, it would sweat more.

Or run the ac condensation line to the outside of the residence and let it drain onto the ground, or run it to the sump pump if possible
