we have 2 older AS pedestal lav sinks.
Trying to change a valve cartridge but can't get top escutcheon and mounting plate off.
Very tight underneath, can't get telescoping basin sink in coz of offset.
Might this help or is it not strong or big enough?
1.5 inch nut.

That wrench is for the waste line not the potable water line.

WROng. That wrench is for the supply lines, and the nuts that secure the faucet to the sink, but probably NOT for the situation he has.

Most of the time the sink bowl has to come off the wall in order to work on the faucet

yes I have had trouble with pedestal sinks as well. So tight under there and the pedestal in the way.
Sometimes I found disconnecting the supply lines from the stops, and removing the p-trap U bend help a little to provide extra fractional inches that may make a difference.
All else fails, then have to bite the bullet to undo the anchors or bolts at the wall, cut the caulk sealant between bowl and wall and pull out the whole thing.

Or do it the easy way and cut off the pieces on top of the sink if you cannot unscrew them.
