2nd floor bathroom sinks not draining.
Author: Jonathan C. (WV)

Ok y'all, I have two upstairs bathroom sinks on opposite sides of the same wall that both stopped draining at all. (I'd say it's something the kids dropped in theirs). I've tried suction, baking soda solution and snaking. The snake stopped after about 10 feet, and when I traced the route I found this suspicious configuration. Any idea on how to cut it out and replace it in a more professional way (eliminate the hard turn elbows) thanks

What is the vertical pipe (A)? Is it a drain or a vent for the sinks?

if you got 10 feet into the pipe then the problem is not the 'hard' turn elbows.
you can replace the top elbow with a long sweep 90 and replace the lower one with san tee laying flat with an end cleanout in it.
you should then be able to snake from there and clear the problem that is downstream.
