 Shower temp fluctuations
Author: mikedel28 (NY)

Hi, got a customer with an older Delta shower/tub valve. Non pressure balanced. Complaining of temperature fluctuations. Replaced all internal parts, ball, seats, springs, cam seal.

Improvement but still an issue. System is on a jet pump. I didn’t see any cross connections in system. Thinking it has something to do with the pressure fluctuations when pump comes on/off. Any ideas?

a non-scald type valve provides user ptotection.
a valve that does not have this feature is subjct to many different factors when it comes to maintaining a constant temperature.

Yes, understood. This is a new problem according to owners. It seems to be related to when the well pump comes on/off

take the vakve apart and remove all the replaced parts.
give it a good flush and try again.
at least eliminated the possibility of any debris causing the problem.
