Odd sized threaded connector for faucet water connector line?
Author: WayneRK (VA)

Hey Everybody, I've run into an odd situation and I can't figure this one out. I just replaced our kitchen sink along with the faucet. The plastic faucet connector lines on the old sink were discolored and looking like they were going to leak soon so I threw them away. I replaced with new metal braided connector lines. So I found out that whoever installed the threaded male connectors on the copper pipes used different sizes. One has a 3/4" fitting and the other one seemed to have a 1/2" fitting.

But come to find out that when I try to attach the 1/2" female one that the threaded connector is too loose and doesn't thread/ fit onto the male. But a 3/4" one is way to small and isn't the right size. I already threw away the original so I can't look at that one now to determine what the heck they used originally.

Is there an odd size that isn't used often that might fit this? The 1/2" is just slightly too loose to thread on.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Cut the adapter off and install new shutoff valves that accept the more commonly used stainless steel flexible faucet connectors

Can you post a picture of the threaded fittings? Are you measuring actually 1/2"(.5"winking smiley and 3/4"(.75"winking smiley or using the terms to describe 1/2" and 3/4" pipe size?
