 Toilet Supply Line Ruptured
Author: lgo838 (IL)

Woke up two days ago to find a toilet supply line had burst. The plastic female fitting that attaches under the toilet had cracked and water flooded a bedroom and then down below to the garage. It is going to be quite a project. I replaced the supply line. I have several other toilets in the house and don't know if I should replace all the supply line preemptively. After Googling it many say replace them every 5 years. Others say don't mess with them. Our previous home where we lived for 23 years was fine. We have been in this house for a year and assume that the lines are original to the home built in 2005, (so 17 years old).

What do experts advise?

I have tried to attach a photo, yet not sure if it is working.

Thanks,
Larry

they do make toilet supplies with metal nut. quite common and easy to find.
since you are only talking a couple of minutes work for each one, then go ahead and change them all.
