1/4” OD compression fitting to NPT
Author: Pmanhart (NM)

Greetings. This is my first post.
I have a problem on my Quincy QT-54 air compressor. There is a 1/4” OD copper tube that connects to the unloader valve. It looks like a 1/8” male NPT. When I remove the copper tube, it looks like a compression fitting. I need to attach a 1/8” NPT connector to this male thread but it doesn’t fit. I don’t understand what type of compression fitting (male part), looks like an 1/8” MPT. Hard to explain without photos.
Basically, what type of threads might look like 1/8” NPT but aren’t? Quincy wasn’t much help. They said it could be metric for all they knew.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Paul

you are looking for this type adapter.
[compressor-source.com]
you'll have to leave a little stub of 1/4 inch tubing to attach to.
if this won't work do a search for 1/4 inch female compression x 1/8 pipe thread adapter.
they are out there but hard to find.
