Changing Spout on Moen TS6720 model
Author: seabass-fl (FL)

Hello,

I hope someone can help me please: I have a Moen TS6720 90 Degree Two-Handle 8 in. Widespread Bathroom Faucet, and over the years the water flow has gone from bad to worse. I called Moen and they told me there's a non removable filter inside the spout causing the issue. So they sent me a replacement spout to fix the issue.

My problem is that I'm having the hardest time removing the old spout. Following the instructions, I'm trying to use a 7/32" allen wrench but there's not enough room to unscrew it. I must be missing something or this is a very poor design.

The pictures below shows the instructions sheet and the space I have to move the wrench. Thank you for your help!

since the old spout is trash, why not just cut a slot in the back of it so there is more room to turn thw wrench?

Yes, I thought of that too. I am just concerned that I will encounter the same issue when installing the new spout (I won't be able to tighten the screw).
