 Snake Handle Stuck!!
Author: adm1974 (LA)

While my husband was out of state working I had my washing machine over flow in my back yard. When I called him he told me how to put the flat snake tape down the main line. Which he has done several times before. We had a bit of miscommunication and I, never have using this thing before, ended up putting the handle down the pipe as well. It is now stuck and won’t budge. Any one have any ideas how to get the snake handle back out of the pipe? Or if I have to call a professional how will they get it out and what kind of expense would I be looking at?

If you were able to push the handle in you should be able to pull it out, or your options are

Call a neighbor or family member to help pull it out with a rope around the handle

Cut the handle

Call a pro and they can extract it… depending on how stuck it is they may be digging

we can not discuss price on this site

the pro will try a retrieval tip on THEIR snake

[th.bing.com]

if unsucessful, they will have to cut open piping to get a good 'bite' on your stuck snake and use a 'come along' to exreact same
