Move toilet drain 8" to left
Author: Joey (GA)

Toilet drain needs to make room for a potential future shower. If it remains in current location, it would be about 9" from a shower curb. I can make the shower smaller (30"winking smiley and add an offset toilet flange that would give me the required 15" clearance but prefer a larger shower. The drain is a 4" and located 4" (top of pipe/ 8" bottom of drain pipe) below the concrete basement floor so not a lot of drop available.

I could use a 4" 90 to connect to the 4" drain and have it run perpendicular to the left and then use a 90 elbow to run up to the flange. This would move the flange about 9" and I could make that work, but not sure if 2 90 elbows would cause blockages.

Any advice appreciated.

This should say " Move toilet drain 8" to the RIGHT" - sorry, still learning.

Than mockup is a 4" 90 to a 4 X 3" with a 3" flange.

Thanks

you won't have any problem with the way you describe the piping change.

I agree but a 45 then 90 offset is preferred horizontal 90 are usually not permitted underground

You could probably even pipe it in 3”

I posted a couple of pics. Also, I'm moving the drain to the right, not the left. The mockup is a 4" 90 coming from the drain to a 4 X 3" 90 to the flange.

Thanks again!
